How OpDash uses your calendar
Last updated: 27 October 2026
You can connect Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar to OpDash. OpDash then offers customers only the times when you are free, and adds your bookings to your calendar.
Connect your calendar
- In the OpDash dashboard, open Profile.
- On the Calendar card, choose “Connect Google Calendar” or “Connect Outlook Calendar”.
- Choose your account. Allow every permission that Google or Microsoft asks for.
- Choose which calendars OpDash checks for busy times (“Check availability”), and which calendar receives your bookings (“Add bookings”). Then choose “Save changes”.
What OpDash does with each permission
Google asks for three calendar permissions. Microsoft asks for one, which covers the same three uses. OpDash uses them only as described here.
Your list of calendars
Google: “See the list of Google calendars you’re subscribed to”.
OpDash shows the names of your calendars on the Calendar card. You use the list to choose which calendars OpDash checks, and which calendar receives your bookings.
Your busy times
Google: “See the availability on Google calendars you have access to”.
In the calendars you chose under “Check availability”, OpDash reads when each event starts and ends, and whether it makes you busy. It does not read the title, description or place of an event, or who else is invited. OpDash then offers customers only times when you are free.
Your bookings
Google: “See, create, change, and delete events on Google calendars you own”.
OpDash adds each booking as an event to the calendar you chose under “Add bookings”. The event shows the booking type, the customer’s name, the time, the place, and a link to the booking in OpDash. OpDash changes the event when the booking is moved, and deletes it when the booking is cancelled. If the booking type uses a new Google Meet or Microsoft Teams link, the event also gets that link. OpDash adds no attendees. It never changes or deletes an event that it did not create.
In Google Calendar, you can also move an event that OpDash created, change its length, or change its place. OpDash then updates the booking.
Your account
Google and Microsoft also share some details of the account you connect. OpDash uses only two of them. It uses the account’s ID to recognise the account. It shows the account’s email address on the Calendar card, so that you can see which account is connected. Microsoft also asks to keep OpDash’s access while you are not logged in. OpDash needs this to add your bookings at any time.
Disconnect your calendar
On the Calendar card, choose “Disconnect”, then confirm. OpDash deletes its access tokens and stops using your calendar. The events OpDash added stay in your calendar.
For Google Calendar, OpDash also asks Google to remove its access, unless the same Google account is still connected in another OpDash workspace. Microsoft does not let OpDash remove its own access. To remove OpDash from your Microsoft account, follow the steps below.
Remove OpDash’s access in your Google or Microsoft account
- Google account: go to the linked apps page of your Google Account. Select “Access to your Google Account”, then OpDash, then “Remove access”. Google’s help page explains the steps.
- Personal Microsoft account: go to account.live.com/consent/Manage and remove OpDash.
- Work or school Microsoft account: go to myapps.microsoft.com. Hover over OpDash, select “...”, then “Manage your application”, then “Revoke Permissions”. If your administrator approved OpDash for your organisation, only an administrator can remove that approval.
Your calendar then stops working in OpDash, and OpDash deletes its access tokens. To keep taking bookings without it, choose “Disconnect” on the Calendar card.
